3.1β配布開始（再更新）

Appleが、OS3.0のアップデートとなる3.1βのデベロッパー向け配布を開始したということです。

Mac Rumorsによれば、

Even with the recent release of iPhone 3.0, Apple is hard at work at the next update: iPhone 3.1. Apple seeded registered developers with a beta version of the firmware and SDK today. Few details were provided as to the improvements to be found in the new firmware. The latest build number is 7C97D.

ということで、iPhoneDeveloperProgram登録のデベロッパーに対して、3.1β（OS 3.1 beta および SDK 3.1 beta）の配布を開始したということです。なおビルドナンバーは7C97Dとなっているとのことです。

一般向けリリースは早くて2・3週間先ではないかと思われます。

追加機能についてはわかっていませんが、MMS関係のオプションが増えているとの情報もあるようです。しかしこれは（晩夏MMSサポート予定の）AT&T向け準備ではないかと思われます。

List of new features:

- Non-destructive video editing now gives you the option to trim your clip then “Save as copy…” rather then replacing the original clip.
- Voice Control now works over Bluetooth
- iPhone vibrates when moving icons
- Updated AT&T profile to 4.2
- Updated modem firmware to 5.08.01
- Improvements to OpenGL and Quartz.
- APIs to allow third party apps to access videos and edit them.
- MMS buttons are back in the Messages app for AT&T customers but still don’t work

ということで、

• ビデオトリミング編集の際に、「別の名前で保存」が可能になった
• Bluetooth経由でのボイスコントロールが可能となった
• ホーム画面のぶるぶる画面になるときにバイブレーションするようになった
• AT&T向けプロファイルが4.2に更新
• モデムファームウェアも5.08.01に更新
• OpenGLとクォーツの改善
• ビデオ編集APIの開放
• SMS/MMSアプリ内のMMSボタンが復活したがまだ動かない　※AT&Tでの話。日本ではすでに対応済み

となっています。

このうち特に気になるのがビデオ編集APIの開放ですね。これを使ったどのようなアプリが登場するか楽しみです。

Redmond Pieによれば、

iPhone 3.1 is now available to developers for download | Redmond Pie

• Video editing on iPhone 3GS wont overwrite the clip over the original when you are editing a clip.
• iPhone will now vibrate whenever you switch to the mode where you can move and arrange icons on the iPhone home screen.
• “Fraud Protection” toggle has been added to settings under Safari.
• iPhone boot time is now faster.
• Voice Control over Bluetooth.
• New APIs to enable third party apps to access videos and edit them.

という事で何点か食い違っています。

• Safariがフィッシング詐欺防止機能を装備
• ブート時間の高速化

の2点が追加になっています。
